International broadcast and new media trainer Steve Ahern will deliver two masterclasses this month at the Singapore Media Academy.

In the first course, called ‘Making Radio Your Business’, Ahern will discuss how to program and manage a station for best results in a highly competitive media environment.

Participants will also learn to appreciate the role of a Programme Director, understand their audience, develop a breakfast show, manage talent, derive competitive advantage, manage ratings and revenue, and acquire branding and marketing ideas.

This three day course will run from July 16 to 18.

The second course, ‘Mobile Journalism’, will equip reporters, street teams and managers with the skills to file quick multi-media reports from their mobile devices.

It will teach participants to use mobile technology to capture, compile, edit and file reports using their smart phones and tablets.

This two-day masterclass will be held on July 17 and 18 and will also feature a range of practical exercises and case studies.
