Malaysia’s Star Radio Group has just launched a campaign called ‘Championing Children’ to raise awareness about child abuse and to provide an avenue for the community to learn more about the issue.

UNICEF estimates that only extreme child abuse and neglect cases are reported in Malaysia.  Internationally, it’s believed only 10 percent of cases are ever reported.

‘Championing Children’ is running concurrently on the websites of Red FM, 988, Suria FM and Capital FM in three languages.

The campaign page gives visitors information on different types and signs of abuse, statistics and help lines.

“Championing Children is part of our effort to educate the general public on child abuse and the importance of keeping our children safe,” said Kudsia Kahar, Star Radio Group Chief Operating Officer.
