Young engineers from 17 countries attend ABU workshop

50 participants from 17 countries took part in an Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union ABU engineering workshop in Malaysia this month.

Engineers from 25 broadcasters joined the five-day workshop on Engineering Fundamentals for Broadcasters in Kuala Lumpur.

According to ABU Technology Director Dr Amal Punchihewa, it was aimed at young engineers who had had some exposure to audio and video systems.

The workshop focused on audio and video systems fundamentals, engineering techniques and applications that have helped engineering veterans to embrace and handle these with confidence.

Punchihewa said: “The ABU place high importance on capacity-building and similar services will be rendered through DBS-2015 to be held in Kuala Lumpur, PMPC-2015 to be held in Samoa and technical assistance services to be carried out in Tonga.”
