Sri Lankan English station YES FM sent its jocks on a mission to broadcast from five cities in one day on Friday.
The 5LIVE tour of the island began when the station headed to the northern city of Jaffna where it recently extended its FM coverage.
YES FM jocks Shaq & Shey hosted their morning show (6-10am) from the city.
Until 2009, Jaffna and the northeast of Sri Lanka were off limits due to a civil war between the government and the Tamil Tigers.
But the city is now experiencing a wave of new investment and has seen tens of thousands of displaced people return following the end of the conflict.
After Jaffna, the Yes FM 5LIVE tour moved the central city of Kandy for the 10-1pm show.
Later the station went live from the southern city of Galle (1-4pm) before heading to Negombo on the western coast (4-7pm) and broadcasting The Radio Zoo live from the capital Colombo from 7-9 in the evening.
The day of live broadcasting was billed on air as “history in the making”.
YES FM is owned by MBC Networks, which also runs YFM (English) Sirasa FM (Sinhalese) and Shakti FM (Tamil).
