Virgin Radio Dubai gets new Programming Head

Arabian Radio Network (ARN), the company behind Virgin Radio 104.4 Dubai, has appointed Alex Agishev as its Head of Programming.

An award-winning broadcaster, Agishev has spent 24 years in Australia where he worked as an on air Presenter, Producer, Programme and Music Director for each of the three major FM networks – Nova Entertainment, Australian Radio Network and Southern Cross Austereo.

He spent the past year in Russia with Moscow’s leading broadcaster, Multi Media Holding (MMH).

Agishev describes his appointment as a dream gig, saying: “It is one of the fastest growing radio markets in the world and Virgin Radio DXB is leading the way through innovative content and digital penetration.”

ARN COO Steve Smith said: “We have big plans to grow in the UAE, and Alex’s 25 years of industry experience, vision and zest will help ensure we continue to turn radio on its head.”

Launched in 2007, Virgin Radio Dubai consistently enjoys top ratings among UAE audiences, especially in the 15 – 35 age bracket.
