Thai protests: Radio steady as adspend falls

Spending on radio advertising in Thailand fell 1.26 per cent in December as all media suffered due to the ongoing political unrest and weaker consumption.

Figures from Nielsen Thailand showed overall adspend fell 6.53 percent to US$276 million (Bt 9.06 billion) in December, reported The Nation newspaper.

For the year as a whole, adspend rose 0.95 percent to $3.5 billion (Bt 115 billion).

The paper reports that in store media suffered the worst declines, down 33 percent in December.

Nielsen predicts 3-5 percent growth in adspend could be possible for 2014 across the entire advertising industry.
