A new app is being hailed as Pandora for speech radio, as it learns the kind of news/talk programming you like the most.

‘Swell’ streams short-form audio from renowned news broadcasters including NPR, ABC, ESPN and the BBC.

It will remember the kinds of shows you listen to most regularly including politics, comedy, business and sport.

According to US tech media reports, the app’s algorithm learns your interests and serves the most relevant speech radio content to you, based on your listening history and location.

It has a swiping interface that allows you to change content.

The San Francisco-based company has so-far only launched on iOS and say they’ve developed the app primarily for in-car use.

It is currently only available in the US.
