Star Radio signs up for better traffic news

Aiming to boost its traffic news service in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s Star Radio Group recently did a deal with four authorities to ensure the very latest information reaches the stations.

Kuala Lumpur’s City Hall, the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA), Fire and Rescue Department and Malaysian Police (RMP) signed an agreement to tackle the city’s traffic congestion.

Traffic information on Star Group stations Red FM, 988, SuriaFM and Capital FM will now be available every 20 minutes on the peak hours – from 7.20 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 7.20 pm.

During regular hours, from 10 am to 4 pm, it will be aired every 30 minutes.

Chief Operating Officer of Star Radio Group, Kudsia Kahar said: “Being the only body in collaborative media, society can get the latest traffic information via radio stations under Star Radio Group.”

Star Radio Group Head of Traffic, Priscilla Patrick added: “Listeners can also inform us on the road conditions and we will share the information as a precautionary measure and inform the authorities. They can reach out to us on Twitter @mytraffic or call 03-77251133.”
