Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) is looking for a new director, according to the HK Standard.

RTHK is the public broadcaster of Hong Kong and operates as an independent government department under the Communications Authority.

Currently, administrative officer Roy Tang Yun- kwong is holding the director’s post.

An internal document suggests that the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau wants to look for candidates outside the organisation.

The nine-month recruitment drive is set to begin at the end of next month.

According to a RTHK spokesman, the station will remain professional to serve the audience irrespective of who is appointed to the post.
