Hong Kong’s RTHK Radio 4 will air a special programme to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of classical composed Benjamin Britten.
The English composer, conductor and pianist is widely thought to have made a significant contribution to 20th century classical music.
He died in 1976.
Britten, Hong Kong and Asia, hosted by Jonathan Douglas, will see two scholars – Professor David Gwilt and Professor Mervyn Cooke – discuss the composer’s legacy.
They will also relive Britten’s six month Asia Tour with Peter Pears in 1956 and share works from the recital recording they made at a Radio Hong Kong studio.
The show will air at 8pm on Friday.
