Revenue up 10% in Astro’s third quarter

Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad has announced its financial results for the nine months of the financial year ending 31 January 2015.

Revenue grew by 10% year on year, to RM3.9bn, EBITDA rose 11% to RM1.3bn and Profit after Tax increased by 12% to RM376 million.

Astro’s performance was underpinned by expansion in its customer base, higher ARPU due to healthy take-up of value-added products and services, growth in advertising income, as well as “disciplined cost management.”

Tun Zaki Azmi, Chairman of Astro said; “The Company continues to deliver growth in profit and strong cash flow.”

The Board of Directors has declared a third interim dividend of 2.25 sen per share. This brings the total dividend for the nine months of FY15 to 6.75 sen per share, 12.5% higher compared to 6.0 sen per share in the same period last year.”

Astro’s radio and tv services are now in 62% of Malaysian households, with a total customer base of 4.3mn.
