Regional chart show now heard across Indonesia

The regional chart show Asia Pop 40 makes its Indonesian debut this weekend.

Prambors Radio network will take the show across its eight largest markets: Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Solo, Makassar, Yogyakarta, Bandung and Semarang.

The new deal means the show will reach an additional 70 million people in Indonesia each week.

Hosted by top regional TV personality Dom Lau, Asia Pop 40 is the region’s first weekly countdown.

Made by Singapore-based EON Media, the show was launched earlier this year and is already heard in Singapore and Thailand.

Executive Producer Rob Graham said: “For us, Indonesia has always been a priority acquisition market for ‘AP40’. The Indonesians love music and their passion is incredible. Combined with our new partners Prambors Radio and their extensive reach across this heavily populated and highly-skewed youth market, Asia Pop 40 is about to enjoy a phenomenal growth in audience!”

Prambors Radioʼs Programme Director Girindra Acoka Prabowo said:“We are really excited about becoming the launch station in Indonesia for Asia Pop 40. We know our audience will love it; weʼre looking forward to their reaction. Itʼs great to be part of the AP40 family!”

Each week Asia Pop 40 counts down the most popular downloads on iTunes across Asia, showcasing iTunes charts from multiple markets to produce a pan-regional radio programme.
