Red FM launches 90’s music station Redtro in Mumbai

Indian network Red FM has launched Redtro 106.4 – the first radio station to be introduced under the newly acquired Phase III licenses by the company.

The station, which had been test-playing for a few days, was launched with an afternoon show by RJ Pritam on Wednesday.

The station is Red FM network’s second station in Mumbai and will play popular music from the 90’s.

It will be the third station in the city offering retro music along with 92.7 Big FM and recently launched Radio Nasha 91.9 FM – which plays music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

Its breakfast show will be hosted by RJ Saurabh, followed by RJ Pritam who will host the mid-morning show.

RJ Palak will host the afternoon show, RJ Sudarshan will host the evening show and RJ Rhicha will present the night show.

Nisha Narayanan, COO, Red FM said: “Experimenting with formats and genres and bringing relevant innovation to programming is core to our strategic line of thinking. We have been dabbling with the idea of a retro music station for quite some time now. While there’re so many new players making a foray in the market and we aim to grow the market with our newest offering, we were very clear in our minds that we’ve to create a marked differentiation in the way retro is perceived.”
