Radio stand-up contest hits 80 cities

India’s 45-station network 92.7 BIG FM launched the second season of ‘Hajmola Chatpata No. 1’ – a talent hunt for the best stand up comics from the northern states of Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Bihar.

Auditions for the hunt began on October 11 across 80 towns in UP and 40 in Bihar and are open to individuals as well as pairs.

The station has also organised mobile audition booths for the month-long hunt.

City finales will be held in Agra, Allahabad, Bareilly, Jhansi, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Patna and the grand finale will take place at Kanpur.

The winner will get a chance to make his/ her acting debut in TV channel BIG MAGIC’s comedy caper ‘Ajab Gajab Ghar Jamai’ and an opportunity to meet Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn.

Devgn is the current brand ambassador of Hajmola, the campaign’s co-sponsor.

BIG FM is looking to strengthen its presence in the two Hindi-speaking states, where more than 5000 participants turned up for the first season of the hunt.
