Radio Mirchi Q2 net up 42 percent

India’s Entertainment Network (India) Ltd. owned Radio Mirchi, reported a net profit growth of 41.9 percent in the quarter ended September 30, 2014.

The company’s profit after tax (PAT) stood at $3.79 million(Rs. 233 million)compared to $2.67 million (Rs. 164 million) in the same period last year.

Revenues for Q2 of FY15 were up 20.6 percent over the previous year at $16.97 million (Rs. 1.04 billion), compared to $14.06 million (Rs. 865 million) in Q2FY14.

The Company’s Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) stood at $5.15 million (Rs. 317 million), up 25.3 percent.

Its EBITDA margin also improved from 29.2 percent in Q2FY14 to 30.3 percent in the current quarter.

Commenting on the results, Mr. Prashant Panday, MD & CEO, ENIL, said: “The radio sector has again turned out an impressive performance, not surprising considering that it accounts for more than 30 percent of media consumption time, but gets only 5-6 percent of advertising revenues.”
