Radio fan achieves letter writing record…again!

For the tenth successive year, 74-year old Aravind Nilkant Navare of Pune, India, has featured in the 2014 edition of Limca Book of Records for writing maximum number of letters about a radio programme, reports DNA.

Navare decided to write down an entire five minute daily programme ‘ Chintan’ and send it to his son on a post-card, when he moved to Mumbai for a job and could not listen to it.

‘Chintan’ is a daily early morning show featuring a noble thought, which is broadcast on All India Radio in Pune.

Navare kept a record of all the letters right from the first day – March 30, 2001.

Till May 29, 2013, when he sent his entry, the Limca Book of Records mentions that he had penned 4113 letters.

On May 1, 2014 he penned 4444’th letter to his son.

Expressing his joy Navare told DNA: “I am happy that my name is included this year too. I am even more happy because my son not only reads these noble thoughts but also prepares his own thoughts and sends them back to me.”
