Indian network Radio City has launched the ‘Ek Kapda Abhiyan’ campaign in the northern city of Lucknow – the capital of Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state in the country.

It aims to spread warmth and extend a hand of support to the underprivileged to fight bitter cold this winter.

The 15-day-long campaign, which was launched on December 10, urges listeners to donate winter clothes, blankets and quilts for those living on the streets who cannot afford to buy winter supplies in the state.

The station has partnered with an NGO in Lucknow to facilitate the distribution of the donated clothes.

The campaign is also being replicated in five other cities – Agra, Bareilly, Kanpur, Gorakhpur and Varanasi.
