New music app ‘Imagine Radio’ launched in Bangladesh

Imagine Radio, a music streaming app from Bangladesh, was launched earlier this week in Dhaka.

The app, which will be available in 52 countries on Android and iOS platforms, offers more than 10 million local and international songs.

It allows artistes to distribute their songs directly to listeners’ smart devices. Users can make their own playlist, while also designing them to a specific mood. The artistes will be paid royalty as per a mutual agreement between both parties. The more popular a track gets, the more royalty will be paid to the artiste.

For musicians, the app offers a range of free, unique services that includes per-stream royalty, dedicated dashboard for musicians & labels, music fan/audience analytics, dedicated profile section and marketing services.

It will also act as a launch-pad for Indie musicians, offering them special services for album releases, promotions, copyrights and other related areas.

The country’s leading musicians such as Feedback, Nemesis, Bappa Mazumder, Elita Karim, Vikings, Chirkutt, Indalo, Shironamhin, Aurthohin and Owned attended the launch event.

Imagine Radio’s founders – Chairman Raihan Shamsi, CEO Shahriar Shahid and COO Ahmed Rakib demonstrated many aspects and features of the app and the platform.

“We will bring an integrated experience of both Bangladeshi and international songs, and make sure to pay due respect to the artistes involved,” said Shahriar Shahid, who believes that Imagine Radio is the most robust content creating app ever created in Bangladesh.

In Bangladesh, where there are not many avenues to enjoy diverse music through legal means, Imagine Radio believes smart application of technology can ensure musicians are rightfully rewarded while giving easy access to music lovers.
