One of MediaCorp Radio’s longest running shows is celebrating 30 years on air with a singing contest offering a $10,000 prize.

Pick of the Pops is a weekly Mandarin chart show that has aired on Y.E.S. 93.3FM since 1983.

Auditions for ‘Pick of the Pops: The Sing Off’ will be held on September 29 at Singapore’s City Square Mall.

The station is inviting soloists and groups of not more than five members to enter the anniversary talent show.

Competitors are allowed to pick any song that has been featured on the Pick of the Pops chart over the past three decades.

Ten finalists will be shortlisted to battle it out at the finale on October 12.

Speaking about the contest, Cruz Teng, Assistant Programme Director of Y.E.S. 93.3FM said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to reminisce the power hits over the last thirty years and at the same time express our gratitude to our loyal supporters by offering a grand prize of $10,000”.
