Phase III Indian FM auctions move another step closer

India’s Broadcasting Ministry has approved the polices for Phase III FM licence auctions and the formal note has gone to cabinet for final approval.

Cabinet is expected to give its approval next week, with partial auctions to take place by March.

The 68 leftover frequencies from the Phase II auction process are expected to be auctioned first, and licences will be valid for 15 years.

The Association of Radio Operators for India ( ) wants the process completed as quickly as possible.
