Pattaya 105, one of several English speaking radio stations in the Thai beach resort, is undergoing major changes after being sold to a regional publisher.
New owner Chang Siam Ltd is well-known for its magazine Pattaya Trader.
Station Manager John James told Asia Radio Today that the relaunch will be complete by the end of August.
A new morning show – Brooksie’s Big Breakfast – has already begun and new DJs are expected to join the station in the next few weeks.
James says he’s tightened the station’s music format and is now targeting a primary audience of 35-45 year olds.
As well as a large expatriate and Thai population in Pattaya, the station says it attracts a significant number of online listeners, particularly from offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Thailand.
A major marketing campaign will begin soon to mark the relaunch.
Pattaya lies about 70 miles south of Bangkok with population numbers varying between 3 and 500,000.
