Organised by Astro & Era FM, Anugerah Meletop Era – a people’s choice award for the Malaysian entertainment industry – has announced its nominations.

Its sixteen categories which include awards for the best Radio Programme and Promising Radio Presenter also reflect the diversity of talents in film, on TV and Online.

All winners, to be decided by public votes, will receive $1494 (RM5000) and a trophy by Astro.

Aril of Era FM, a Promising Radio Presenter nominee, told the New Straits Times: “Everyone wants to win. But reaching the top five is already an honour.”

The awards ceremony will be held on Feb 8 at Putra Stadium, Kuala Lumpur featuring popular artistes such as Hafiz Suip, Stacy, Mark Adam and Najwa Latif.

Indonesian singer Cakra Khan will also put in a special appearance.

Award presenters include local celebrities like Datuk Aznil Nawawi, Lisa Surihani, Aaron Aziz and Emma Maembong.

AstroMalay language business vice-president Khairul Anwar Salleh told the paper: “AME’s objective is to recognise those who have contributed to the local entertainment scene that covers music, radio, television, film and digital.”
