Nine Asians in NYF Radio Awards jury

2014 New York Festivals (NYF) World’s Best Radio Programs announced the appointment of nine prominent radio industry executives from Asia to its GrandJury.

These include four professionals from Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) – Lai Ngar (jace) Au, Hugh Chiverton, Tai Keen-Man and Reenita Malhotra.

India also sees a strong representation with five inclusions in the panel.

These are Arjun Madhusudan from Radio Mango, Zohar Rehaan from Reliance Broadcast Network, Alii Zaheer from Radio Mantra, Gaurav Sharma from Fever FM, and Swarup BR from Stark Communications.

Additional GrandJury members are set to be announced at a later date.

Michael Freedman, senior vice president and professor at University of Maryland University College (UMUC) has also been included in the jury as well as the Advisory Board.

NYF enlists jurists from all over the world with some of the most recognizable voices and captivating programming producers in the industry.

Entries are judged on production values, organization, presentation, creativity, and use of the medium.

Winning entries will be honoured on June 23 at an awards ceremony at Manhattan Penthouse in New York City.

The deadline for entering the 2014 competition is March 19.
