New BBC morning show for Nepal

The BBC launched a new morning news programme in Nepal on Thursday.

The new 15 minute update – in the the Nepali language – will air at 7.15am local time.

The show can be heard on BBC 103FM in Kathmandu and on 260 FM stations which re-broadcast the BBC’s Nepali programming.

BBC Nepali already airs a 30 minute evening news programme (Monday to Saturday) and an hour of local language programming on Sunday.

BBC Nepali Editor, Rabindra Mishra, said: “The BBC has a strong audience base in Nepal, and this expansion of radio programming shows our commitment to providing these audiences with highest-quality news and information. Our new morning programme will help set the day’s news agenda in a vibrant, energetic and engaging style.”

BBC 103FM also broadcasts BBC World Service programmes in English.
