MY FM’s ‘tree of money’

India’s 94.3 MY FM launched the country’s first radio reality show‘Paiso Ka Ped’ (Tree of Money) in Jaipur.

The two-week campaign, which was broadcast live on the station, gave a chance to listeners to win from an actual money-tree placed in a local mall.

Out of 1500 participants who registered for the contest, 100 were shortlisted and 30 finalists were selected through a medical examination.

The contestants had to hold a specially fabricated tree made with coins and currency notes and whoever managed to hold it for the longest duration would be the winner.

After 65 hours, the winner Govind Sharma walked away with prize money of $8030(Rs 500,000).

Speaking on the occasion Harrish Bhatia, CEO, MY FM said: “This also sets a benchmark in pushing the envelope and broadening the scope for radio programming. Such activities are not just aimed at connecting with the listeners and the live audiences but they also spread happiness in general.”

Viplove Gupte, National Programming Head, MY FM, added: “The innovation was truly path breaking as it was a departure from existing radio formats. The entire event was covered live on radio and that’s also another first of its kind.”
