Jaipur station achieves women’s rights goal

94.3 MY FM, part of the Danik Bhaskar Group in Jaipur, India, pledged to help women feel safer by spreading awareness about violence against women.

The BOL initiative took place after the city of Jaipur witnessed 48.6 percent increase in crime against women in 2013.

The Campaign got a huge response with more than 94,300 people, including Mayor Jyoti Khandelwal, pledging to stop violence against women in just a couple of days.

To draw attention and create awareness RJ Kartik and RJ Mohit voluntarily courted arrest and confined themselves in jail, vowing to come out when 94,300 people pledged to sign up for the initiative.

Commenting on how violence against women is a national problem, Mr. Harish M Bhatia CEO of 94.3 MY FM said: “The BOL initiative is in continuation of our efforts to create awareness about issues of women’s security,  making them feel safe in their cities. We are proud to be taking the lead to bring about this societal change.”
