Astro Radio audience climbs to 13 million

According to the latest Nielsen Radio Audience Measurement (RAM), Astro Radio remains the leading radio station network in Malaysia with weekly listenership of 13 million.

With a 56.3 percent share of listenership, it is the only radio operator whose total listenership grew from the previous survey.

Its Bhasa Malaysia stations – ERA FM, THR ( Raaga and Gegar) and SINAR FM are the top three in the country with 5.2 million listeners, 3.8 million listeners and 3.7 million listeners respectively.

THR Gegar continued to be the No.1 station in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia with 1.9 million listeners.

Its Chinese station MY FM retained its top position with a reach of 2 million weekly listeners.

The audience for hitz.fm fell by 100,000 compared to earlier this year,  but it remains the number one English station with 1.1 million listeners.  Its morning show also registered a small increase to 436,000 listeners.

Another of Astro’s English stations LiteFM grew by 11 percent to reach 265,000 weekly listeners and MIX FM now has an audience reach of 161,000 weekly listeners.
