International Radio Fair in Odisha on World Radio Day

 

Bhubaneshwar, the capital of the Indian state of Odisha, will host a two-day International Radio Fair on February 13 and 14 on the occasion of World Radio Day (WRD).

It will focus on ‘Role of Radio in Times of Emergency and Disaster’ as it is the theme of WRD 2016.

All India Radio, private FM stations, community radio stations and Internet-based radio stations will participate in the event while Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore will grace the occasion.

Seminars and talks on the importance of Radio and WRD will be organised every afternoon and every evening there will be cultural performance by radio artists from all over India.

There will also be an exhibition showcasing old and new radio sets, old broadcasting equipments, ham radio, radio studio, stalls by radio stations and a sand sculpture of radio.

Radio Choklate produced drama ‘Upahar’ and All India Radio Cuttack produced drama ‘Amritakhyara’ will be staged during the event.
