Indonesian radio stations send aid to disaster victims

As an active Mount Sinabung spews lava and ashes on Sumatra island and floods and avalanches affect life across other parts of Indonesia, two local radio stations are doing their bit to help the victims.

97.5 FM Motion Radio and 92 Sonora FM are rushing supplies to the estimated 26,000 people forced to flee their homes following the eruption.

The two stations are providing cash, medicines, and daily needs through their initiative Motion & Sonora Peduli (Motion & Sonora cares).

Each channel hopes that together they can bring more help to those who need it.

Sonora has a national network with stations spread all over the country, and hopes that donations could come from people on every island in Indonesia.

Motioners (Motion Radio listeners) and Sonora Listeners can bring donations to Motion Radio office at Gedung Perintis lt. 5 Jl. Kebahagiaan 4 – 14 Jakarta Barat 11140 and donate money to Bank BCA Asemka branch 001.33.10090 on behalf of Sonora Radio.
