Indian podcasting workshop

India’s second most experienced podcaster, Chhavi Sachdev, will be conducting a podcasting workshop in Mumbai this weekend.

While many international podcasts like Serial, Moth, TWiT, RadioLab, The Hidden Brain and The Nerdist have become quite popular over the years, Sachdev feels that India needs more Indian podcasts.

Sachdev, who has produced LSDcast – an Indian podcast about love, sex, and dating, will share the basics of podcasting in this two-hour workshop.

Topics covered include everything from creating content to sharing a finished audio podcast.
She will talk about equipment, mics, sound editing, radio manners, scripts, formats, software, distribution platforms and more.

Speaking on emergence of podcasting in the country, Sachdev said: “Podcasting is just coming of age in India. It’s an exciting time to start exploring the spoken word. Indian audiences are hungry for something outside the normal FM radio Bollywood diet. Podcasts are brilliant because they give your brain something to do, something to learn, while you do something else like cook, or work out, or drive to work.”
