India: National Community Radio Awards presented

India’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitely presented the National Community Radio awards on Monday.

They were a part of the three-day National Sammelan for Community Radio Stations in Delhi.

In the thematic category, Radio Kisan from Odisha won the first prize of its show ‘Ame Apanka Sathire’ (We are with you).

Kerala’s Radio media Village won the second prize for its show ‘By the People’ and Madurai’s Radio Shamalavani was third for its show ‘The Land of a Wedded Life’ (Vaakapatta Boomi).

Anna CR from Chennai was the winner in the Community Engagement category for its show ‘Magalir Neram’ (Time for Women).

Madurai’s Vayalaga Vanili was the runner-up for ‘Vuluthundu Vaalvom’ (Surive by Agriculture).

In the category for Promoting Local Culture, Pant Nagar Janvani from Uttarakhand was the winner and Ahmedabad’s Rudi-no-Radio was the second prize winner.

The award for the Most Creative Programme Content was won by Coimbatore’s Rathi Vani station for its show ‘Pothumada.. .Sami’ (It’s enough..,more than enough).
