HK community initiative calls for more show ideas

A third round is underway of a Hong Kong government initiative to involve the local community in the making of radio programmes.

The Community Involvement Broadcasting Service (CIBS) has already seen more than thirty programmes made by the public, with the help of public broadcaster RTHK.

In the next phase, five hours of programmes will be dedicated to the theme of Economy and Finance, eight hours to Ethnic Minorities,  five hours for Health and a further 10 hours can feature any topic.

The successful shows are set to be broadcast between July this year and January 2015 and can be 30 or 60 minutes in duration.

CIBS officials are encouraging applications from individuals and local community organisations.

The deadline for applications is January 30 at 5.30pm.
