Guam’s first HD radio station

Guam’s Choice Broadcasting has added HD Radio to B104 KIJI FM, making it the island’s first HD station.

Guam is a U.S. territory in Micronesia and KIJI currently broadcasts as Boss 104.3 from the village of Tumon.

The station started in September 2005 to provide news to Japanese tourists, who were currently staying on Guam and also to help Guam residents to learn Japanese language and culture.

Its format is Classic hits from the 1970s and 1980s.

The company has plans in the works to add an HD channel to KNUT(FM), as well.

KIJI runs 12.5 kW with an antenna 320 above ground level; KNUT has 8,000 watts of power from 115 ft AGL.
