DRM: ‘global radio with benefits’ at IBC

Digital Radio Mondiale™ (DRM) is preparing to organise ‘Pit-stop’ events at this year’s International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam from September 12 to 16.

A leading global tradeshow for broadcasters and media professionals, IBC attracts over 150,000 visitors every year from over 160 countries worldwide.

DRM is the universal, openly standardised digital broadcasting system for all broadcasting frequencies.

The first ‘Pit-stop’ will be on Friday where guests will hear about the latest exciting receiver developments in India.

On Saturday, the DRM Consortium member Nautel Ltd will host a ‘tell and show’ DRM event concentrating on what has really happened in DRM since 2013.

Nautel representatives and other Consortium companies from India and around the world will give the latest news on the Indian DRM transmitter roll-out in their session ‘Building to a Billion and Beyond’.

Other DRM members Digidia, Fraunhofer IIs, GatesAir, RFmondial and Transradio will also be present at IBC.

Ruxandra Obreja, the Consortium Chairman, said: “This year in Amsterdam we will demonstrate that DRM is becoming established globally. During IBC we hope to make an exciting announcement to underline that global, green and extremely cost-effective DRM is not just the future of digital radio but a reality for the listeners now.”
