China setting up listening stations at Fujian

The Chinese army has set up three new listening stations to monitor radio signals from Taiwan, according to a report by defence magazine Kanwa Information Center.

China has been increasing its snooping stations in the coastal Fujian province, which is closest to Taiwan, over the years.

One of these stations is reportedly near the Longtian Air Base with antennas and dishes directed toward Taipei and the major central city of Taichung targeting all radio signals, including mobile phones and other wireless communications from western Taiwan.

Another base in Fujian has installed butterfly antennas and a third base at Hui’an focuses on signals from northern Taiwan, the report said.
