BIG Ramleela back for Season 2

India’s 92.7 BIG FM announced the second season of ‘BIG Ramleela’ to coincide with the ongoing ‘Navratra’, a nine-day festival dedicated to the goddess Durga.

‘Navratra’ culminates with ‘Dussehra’, which celebrates the victory of the Hindu god Rama over Ravana in the religious epic Ramayana.

‘Ramleela’ is a theatrical performance of the story of Ramayana over these nine days.

BIG FM has brought in children between the age of 6 and 13 from all over Delhi to enact and recite the epic battle live on the station from September 25 to October 3.

They were selected by BIG FM’s team of RJs and the producers who visited numerous schools and organised auditions.

The kids were mentored by renowned television actor Arun Govil – best known for playing Rama in the hit TV series Ramayana in 1986.

Speaking about the activity, Ashwin Padmanabhan, National Business Head, 92.7 BIG FM said: “We are excited to engage our listeners in the celebrations on-air by encouraging their kids to play legendary roles.”

Commenting on the initiative, actor Arun Govil said: “Playing Ram being the biggest milestone in my career, I am now delighted to have this opportunity to mentor kids today on diction, voice quality and modulation.”
