Mumbai, the huge Indian metropolis, finally has its own 11.4km, 12 station metro rail service.

After years of waiting, the first of three phases was officially opened to the public on June 8, and projected to carry hundreds of thousands of passengers.

To mark the occasion, 92.7 Big FM, Mumbai, broadcast its Breakfast Show with RJ Siddharth LIVE from the launch.

During the show, he talked to listeners and first time commuters about their hopes for the new service.

BIG FM’s Mumbai station has also introduced a dedicated show called ‘Mumbai Metro’ every day from 6 – 7pm, hosted by RJ Dilip.

It will also run ‘do’s and don’ts’ capsules with safety tips for travelling on the new metro.

The short-recordings also will also feature untold stories behind the construction of the metro.
