BFM interview with Anwar Ibrahim banned

Malaysia’s business radio station BFM has been ordered not to broadcast an interview with opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.

Under licensing requirements, the station submitted a list of guests and topics to the media regulator, which included details of its conversation with the leader of the Pakatan Rakyat (People’s Alliance).

But the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) told the station not to air the interview, reports the Malaysia Chronicle.

The publication says its not the first time BFM has been banned from airing interviews.

The conversation with Ibrahim, who is also de facto leader of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (People’s Justice Party), is still available to download as a podcast.
