AIBs shortlist includes Radio Taiwan International

Radio Taiwan International (RTI), BBC World Service, Voice of America (VOA) and Radio Free Asia are among the shortlisted entries for the Association International Broadcasting Awards (AIBs).

Eight out of the 18 categories were eligible for entries from radio stations.

RTI is shortlisted for Current Affairs Documentary (radio) for My Days at the Mental Ward and Creative Feature (radio) for Once upon a Taiwan.

Radio Free Asia is shortlisted for best Investigative Documentary (radio) – Lost but not Forgotten: Justice Sought for Missing Uyghurs.

Two VOA on air talents – Paul Westpheling and Steve Ember – have been nominated for International Radio Personality.

Radio Free Asia’s E-book Remembering Tiananmen is shortlisted in the Production Technology category along with VOA’s iphone Interview and British radio network TalkSport for its international football commentaries of Barclays Premier League games.

The category Specialist Genre (Programme or Series) features the show My City, produced by the BBC World Service.

The 2013 AIBs will be presented at a gala evening in London on November 6.
