ABS-CBN radio stations win honours

Radio stations belonging to the ABS-CBN group scored big in the radio categories at the 22nd Golden Dove Awards, organised by Philippines’ broadcast media association Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP).

The group’s regional stations as well as its AM network DZMM, were among the winners.

The Kapamilya Network bagged the Best Radio Newscast Program – Manila award for Radyo Patrol Alas Dose, Best Radio Public Affairs Program – Manila for Pasada Said Trenta and Best Radio Public Affairs Program – Provincial was won by ABS-CBN Palawan’s Bantay Bata DYAP.

DZMM’s Julius Babao was the Best Radio Newscaster, Ted Failon, who comperes Failon Ngayon DZMM was judged the Best Radio Public Affairs Program Host and Best Radio Magazine Program Host was Ariel Ureta for DZMM’s Todo-Todo Walang Preno.

The winners are chosen by independent jurors who represent the youth, academe, religious groups, advertising industry and government.

The group’s chairman Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III also received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, as KPB recognised him as a moving force in the country’s broadcast industry.
