Radio Foorti drives listeners to new record

Bangladesh’s largest private radio network Radio Foorti helped the country break a world record for the largest human flag on Monday.

More than 27,000 people took part in the patriotic display, organised to mark Victory Day – to mark the winning of the War of Independence in 1971 against Pakistani forces.

The previous human flag record was held by none other than Pakistan, who used 24,000 people to create their flag.

Radio Foorti was one of several media that called for volunteers to be part of the project.

Radio Jockeys (RJs) Sarzina and Abrar broadcast live from the attempt at Dhaka’s National Parade Ground.

Local media said documents would be sent to Guinness for their official recognition of the new record.
