MY FM India Q2 revenues up 14 percent

The owner of India’s 17 city radio network MY FM saw second quarter radio revenues grow 14 percent.

Stations belonging to DB Corp Ltd brought in US$2.8 million (Rs 175 million) from July to September, according to financial results released by the company.

Gross earnings from radio (EBIDTA) stands at nearly US911,000 (Rs. 56 million) (~32% margin) in Q2 FY 2013-14.

Profit after tax (PAT) came in at nearly US$309 million (Rs. 19 million) (~11% margin).

First half revenues grew 17 percent to 342.50 million compared to the same period (April to September) last year.

Radio is a tiny part of DB Corp Limited business but is likely to grow under phase III of private radio licensing, which is due to be announced this month.

India’s largest print media company has said it will likely bid for additional FM frequencies in areas already served by its newspaper business.

Overall DB Corp saw H1 revenues grow 19 percent to nearly US$110 million (Rs. 6.7 billion).

The company owns newspapers Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaskar, Dainik Divya Marathi and Saurashtra Samachar.
