Yes 101 FM Sri Lanka has announced a million rupee ($7651) Payroll Payout contest to help listeners earn every weekday in January.

To take part, fans of the station have to register for the contest through a SMS, tune in between 7am and 7pm and if they get a call from the station, they have to answer the phone within 10 seconds to win 5000 Rupees ($38) instantly and get on the YES101 payroll.

If they can’t answer correctly, the cash snowballs in value for the next registered listener to take part in the next hour.

In the cash isn’t won, winners from earlier in the day or week keep earning 1000 Rupees ($7.7) for every hour the contest is played out.

The winning amount is comparable to average monthly wages in Sri Lanka, which range from 6500-9500 Rupees ($50-$73), depending on the skillset.
