As 11 million girls across the world face the prospect of not being able return to school this year due to COVID-19's unprecedented education disruption, UNESCO has produced a toolkit for community radio stations to help ensure girls worldwide have access to education.
The organisation is asking community radios to support its Global Education Coalition's #LearningNeverStops campaign which calls to ensure that every girl is able to learn while schools are closed and return to the classroom when schools safely reopen.
The campaign also speaks out for the 130 million girls who were already out of school before the pandemic and we need your support to get stories and messages about this vital issue out to local communities.
The toolkit contains messages and facts from the global campaign and hopes to help community stations make this campaign most relevant to their audiences – drawing on local data and voices from their communities.
It suggests several types of shows that community radio stations can create. It is currently available For more information, please contact UNESCO's section on gender equality in education at [email protected].
