UFM100.3’s contest for anonymous singers

Singapore’s Mandarin station UFM100.3 is back with the second season of its Radio Singer contest, designed as a platform for those who like to stay anonymous while showcasing their vocal skills.

To participate, contestants need to just send an e-mail and attach an audio file of them singing a song.

They need to attach links to an audio file of them singing a song by any of these 18 popular artists whose songs are often heard on UFM100.3: A-lin, A-mei, Angela Chang, David Tao, Della Ding Dang, Eason Chan, Eric Chou, G.E.M., JJ Lin, Jay Chou, Joker Xue, Jolin Tsai, Mayday, S.H.E, Stefanie Sun, Tanya Chua, Wang Leehom and Yoga Lin.

The audio files must have background music and must be more than two minutes long.

Participants’ identities are known only to the organisers and kept secret even after the contest.

This year's winner will walk away with $1,500 cash and a Two-Day One-Night hotel staycation.

The last day to submit entries is August 18. It will be followed by online public voting from September 2 to 19. Winners will be contacted via SMS.

Last year's winner, who chose not to reveal his identity, went by the stage name Lao Uncle and won by singing the JJ Lin song ‘Twilight’.
