UFM launches platform for Singapore’s home-grown musicians

Singapore’s Mandarin radio station UFM100.3 has collaborated with Hear65, an initiative by the National Arts Council (NAC) to create Live From The Lion City! – a platform to promote local music.

The event will showcase a series of performances every month to raise the profile of Singaporean musicians and their music.

It’s first performance was held last weekend and featured local singer-songwriter Boon Hui Lu, who is the also the series' ambassador.

She first rose to fame singing covers of songs on YouTube a few years ago and is now signed to a record label and released her debut album two months ago.

Another two home-grown music acts shared the stage with her: Marcus Lee Jun Weia musician who represented Singapore in the Sing! China television programme in 2017 and

The Cold Cut Duo, a singer-songwriter band comprising Wilson Wong and Gwendolyn Lee which launched their first single earlier this year.
