Studio927 on Big FM gives contemporary twist to retro music

 

Indian network Big FM has launched Studio927, a show where contemporary artists perform a rendition of their favorite retro songs by creating finished mash-ups.

The show aims to recreate the magic of evergreen songs by syncing with all age groups.

The one hour show airs across the network’s 36 Hindi pseaking markets from 8 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 6 pm, Monday to Saturday.

On Sunday, a weekly roundup of the show airs from 6 pm to 7 pm.

It features sees contemporary singers such as Jubin Nautiyal, Shibani Kashyap, Jonita Gandhi, Kavita Seth and Shalmali Kholgae.

It also talks about the trivia behind the making of the song and gives listeners a chance to participate in on air contests.

A spokesperson from 92.7 BIG FM said: “At a time when we are refreshing across markets, we strategically decided to come up with an offering that everyone can connect with irrespective of their age.”
