Star Radio Group comes together for MH370

Breakfast teams from four Star Radio Group stations in Malaysia hosted a joint show ‘Uniting In Hope’ for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

RED FM WTF announcer JJ was joined by Adibah Noor from SuriaFM’s Ceria Pagi, Janice Yap and Pamela Chong from Capital FM’s Capital Breakfast and Chan Fong, Sam Mak and Anson from 988’s Morning Up for this special broadcast.

The four-hour show was broadcast commercial-free in Malay, English and Chinese languages.

Announcers took calls, read out a poem written by a SuriaFM listener and spoke to a psychologist who offered advice to cope with a trying situation like this.

Thanking the audience for their support, Chan Fong, Sam Mak and Anson from 988’s Morning Up said: “We are glad that many of our listeners have channelled their anxiety, fear and doubts positively and most importantly, thank you for coming together for Malaysia.”

“For the past one week, our listeners have been pouring their messages for MH370 on the stations’ website and Facebook. ‘Uniting In Hope’ was another platform for them to express hope and prayers for the passengers and crew of MH370,” said Kudsia Kahar, the chief operating officer of Star Radio Group.

Search operations are still underway for the passenger jet which mysteriously disappeared ten days ago while travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
