SPH station wins ‘Best App’ prize

Singapore’s HOT FM 91.3 picked up a prize at the Mob-Ex Awards 2014, held on Thursday night at the Singapore Marriot Hotel.

The SPH Radio station took the Bronze in the ‘Best App / Content by a Media Owner’ category.

The HOT FM CONTROL mobile app allows listeners to control the music played on the station after 10.45 at night and at weekends.

Fans can view the music playlist on screen and vote for the artists and songs they want to hear in real-time.

The app even has an ‘Open Mic’ feature, which enables listeners to record 10 second audio messages, at their own discretion, which the DJs can then retrieve and play on-air.

The Hot FM Control app was launched in October last year and sees a weekly average of more than 3,500 users per week, the company told Asia Radio Today.

The Mob-Ex Awards is Singapore’s premier event celebrating mobile excellence, recognising the best across the mobile marketing spectrum.

More than 70 brands vyed to win the 24 categories available.
