Singapore web station relaunches

Singapore’s web radio station The Live Radio relaunches on Saturday with a new Top 40 format targeted at the youth market in the city state.

The station, which has been on air since 2012, plans to superserve 15-30 year-olds with a new line-up.

The station has signed up new 10 DJs including Gibryon Tan, a former voice-over artist on Radio 91.3.

Other budding DJs are welcome to apply for positions.

Shows will air Monday to Saturday from 7am to 10pm and starting next month, a special timebelt will be put aside for upcoming local performers in the late afternoon.

Programme Director Lin Junhong said: “The Live Radio will be offering a whole new revolution level of radio. We will be dedicating shows to everyone who wishes to be a DJ and everyone will get the opportunity to run their own shows in the studio.”

“Of course, training will be provided to ensure the smooth transition of the shows. The best part is, we might even get different DJ every day to retain the freshness of the shows.”
